Have you been trying to live healthy or change your habits but seen no lasting results? 
 
Are you sick of starting something new in your diet or exercise routine but not being able to stick with it for very long? 
 
I know how you feel and you’re not alone! I think much of diet culture tries to convince you to change everything or overhaul your life for a short time and then once you get the results you’re looking for, you can go back to living the way you were… 
 
But I know, and I’m sure you know too, that doesn’t really help you create lasting healthy habits. 
 
So, if you are in a place where you just don’t feel like you know where you should start with getting healthy, with changing habits to help you live a healthier lifestyle, lose weight, get more energy, whatever it is “living healthy” means to you… 
 
I want to get practical and share 3 places to start when it comes to creating habits that last and of course encouragement to keep seeking the Lord as you begin to take action in your health. 
 
I know sometimes it can be so overwhelming, you can feel so tired and not motivated to do “what you know you need to do” and you might have the understanding and belief that you need to take better care of your body, your health, as a way to honor the Lord… 
 
but I also get that it’s a journey and sometimes you need somewhere to start to get your energy levels up, to have some quick wins for motivation, to get in the habit or practicing hearing from the Lord for His specific direction.

Do you ever feel like you’re just going through the motions? Maybe you’ve gotten caught up in just checking things off your to-do list, not really sure why you’re doing them or if they’re actually helping you.
 
Have you ever found yourself tightly holding onto something you were convinced you needed to be doing only to find it causing you extra challenges in one way or another? Maybe that’s misplaced priorities, living up to an expectation you weren’t called to live up to or something like that. 
 
Well, today I’m sharing about my experience of when the Lord led me away from a season of intentionally exercising and into a season of deep growth and surrender to Him and His ways. 
 
As it turns out, over-exercising was a deeper rooted struggle than I realized and God was ready to help me work through it. 
 
This story is just one example of how seeking the Lord first in my health has produced results in my life that I didn’t even know I needed! He is so good and gracious and I pray as you listen that you can sense it for yourself. 
 
So whether or not exercising has been at the front of your mind as part of your health journey to be working on, this episode is for you! There are so many nuggets of encouragement about how to hear from the Lord and where He might be leading in your health journey next and I even share a bit of teaching about what it looks like to live an active lifestyle like I did during this most recent season I walked through, versus always pursuing intentional exercise as I had previously.

Have you ever seen another car driving near you start to drift off into another lane or even your lane? What was the first thing you thought (or maybe said out loud) about them? 
 
“Stop being distracted and drive, pay attention to what you’re doing!” Something along those lines right… 
 
Have you ever been talking to your kids about something very important when you start to see their gaze shift to something else and their hands begin to fidget? 
 
What do you say to them next? “Can you please FOCUS on what I’m saying to you right now?!” 
 
Well, I feel like this has happened to me a lot in my life, especially about living healthy, trying to change lifestyle habits, or practicing listening to what God is saying… I just feel distracted. 
 
Can you relate? I tend to feel like I can’t focus for long enough and I feel like there are too many other things happening around me or inside my brain to give something, even God, my full attention. 
 
Maybe you’ve felt this way too and realize what a hindrance it can be to creating the lasting lifestyle changes you want or truly going deeper in your relationship with God.
